I am very excited to share with you the photos from Ben J.'s shoot this past weekend.
These are only some of the looks for Take Off Your Clothes fall-winter '09 look book.

I'm in love with these photos and the clothing. They're both sexy and eerie.

The photos were taken by a very talented NYC-based photographer named Meg Wachter. (Check out her site.)

I'm really into her work.
And I hope I'm lucky enough to work with her in the future!

A Cubist Literature look book is in the works, friends…

Yesterday I was sat (was sitting) at my desk and I looked over to my Holga and an unused roll of film laying beside it.
I hadn't shot with film in a long while, so I decided it's about time to do so.

Here are some of my favorites from that roll of film:

I also developed a roll of slide film that I'd had in my bag since late February/March.
I didn't want to pay for the normal price of slide film processing, so I just decided to process it as C-41. It's cheaper that way. And since the photos were cross-processed, there are a lot of good ones on that roll. (I usually think cross-processing is a cop-out, but I like these all right.)

I'm really in love with the photo lab I went to. It's in Park Slope and called Accurate Photo Shop, Inc.
They developed my film in 30mins!

Holler!

Well, Windy, my younger sister, left yesterday. And I wasn't expecting this, but I got so sad after I said goodbye that I started crying as I was walking in the airport. I was so homesick the rest of the day that I had to go to the bathroom a couple times to bury my face in my towel and cry like a baby.

But I guess it's just one of those things.
I feel a lot better today.

Here are some photos of me being an NYC tourist with my sister:

(At the top of the Empire State Building.)

Me

(Grand Central.)

It also snowed about five to seven inches the other day while she was here. I was really happy that she got to see real snow. (We're from Houston, so getting snow is almost unheard of.)

That scarf that she's wearing is a belated Christmas gift I finished after she got here. I made her model it for me the other day:

It's really long—over 70".
And it's a foot wide.

She told me she wanted it this one time we were waiting at the Coach store. This lady walked in with a similar scarf, and Windy said, "That's the scarf I want. So, you better get on it.'

I'm not good with deadlines.
I'm also worse when I have no deadlines.

So, yeah.
That's that.

Here are a few other random photos of some shirts I've sewn since yesterday. And other stuff.

Oh, and here's this photo of me when I had this REALLY bad hangover.
(I couldn't stay in bed all day long like I wanted to, though. I had to keep on truckin' and take Windy shopping…)

Me

I got sorta belligerent the night before…

K sorry for all the photos, but I missed you, friends!

I feel odd today.
I'm worried. And I'm full of regret.
I don't know. It's weird.

It's also a Friday, and I'm not the biggest fan of weekend nights.

Anyway, here's a big warm sweater I appliquéd.

I don't know the significance of the rabbit (NOT bunny!) or the arrows.
You can interpret them however you'd like.
I do a lot of things without really thinking about them.

Ready for a lot of photos?
Here's a roll of film I got developed the other day.

I accidentally bought slide film. It was more expensive to develop.
So, that's what this kind of film is. Slightly expired, too.
Okay.
I need to calm my nerves.

Keep it sleazy,

I finished a roll of film when I was in Boston.
But when I taped the film shut, I noticed that my Diana hadn't wound the film as tightly as it should have.
And I was really worried that the entire roll would be ruined.

But it wasn't.

Just distorted.

I just like to keep things simple.
I just like to make simple things.

My wardrobe is simple.

I am not intelligent.

Here's a contact sheet.
Unsure about which photos I'll get prints from.
I messed up most of the shots.

I thought about making a list of my favorite bands.
But then I got stuck on the issue of Erase Errata.

I mean, they ARE one of my favorite bands, of course. But they're just not the same anymore.
They used to be a sort of experimental/art-punk band with somewhat political undertones.
But NOW their sound isn't as interesting and they're overtly political.

PAR EXAMPLE, this video from '02 (the year I first got into them when I saw them open for Bratmobile):

The recording isn't very good, so I'll include some audio of one of the songs they play in that segment:

So, it's political, I suppose, that song (which is from the second album, not the first, which is more "artsy"), but it's not as explicit as it is in their newer stuff.

PAR EXAMPLE:

This song ("Tax Dollar") from their newer album:

I think it's just too political.

And I have nothing against bands/music being political—I mean, I also really like Sonic Youth and Le Tigre and other bands—but I prefer somebody's "message" to be downplayed and the music to be upplayed(is that a word?).

Being political in your art or music or whatever definitely puts an expiration date and other limitations on who's going to be able to enjoy it.

Does that make sense at all?

(Besides I'm also rather cynical when it comes to politics.
Rarely will you hear me complain about/discuss "hot topics" and such.)

Okay, I'm just going to stop there.
I could go on and on.

I just had to get that off my breasts.

Did you see these photos I took?

Last night I barfed after drinking too much. (Second time that's ever happened.)
And I was/am still feeling shitty today.
During my lunch, I had to go to the bathroom to vomit.

It's weird to see the food you JUST ate now suddenly floating in the toilet.
And then after you're done vomiting, it's weird to go back to that same meal.

So, I'm not sure that I should go out tonight for New Year's EVE!
(I hate new year's eve.)

(Is it supposed to be capitalized? New Year's Eve or new year's eve?)

Here's a contact sheet I got:

It's the first roll I got out of my Diana.
(It's a vintage clone. It smells like an old book.)

It's also the first time I've ever shot with black and white film.
I need to figure that out.

Please be safe tonight, pals!
But keep it sleazy!

Talk to you next year.

Last two songs played:
-a piece by Harry Partch
-"Axeman" by Heavens to Betsy

Okay.
Last night Chris K. came over my mother's place and we drank a lot of wine and watched movies and such. But he got too drunk and stayed the night here. I gave up my couch and slept on the love seat. (I hope I never have to sleep on the love seat again because it's way too small.)

Okay, so, then—don't tell too many people this—he got so drunk he vomited.

In the kitchen sink.

With dishes in it.

=/

It smelled like vomit in the kitchen all morning.

And now I'll share some photos avec toi.

Two cameras that have a plastic lens.

1. Vivitar Ultra Wide and Slim

X4

2. Holga 120N

I've got more of those kinda photos on my Flickr page.
