SELF PORTRAIT THURSDAY!
6.28.12

Soup’s on the stove, and there’s another heatwave coming. Oh boy.

The response to the Take Off Your Clothes FW12 preview was very nice. Since the shoot I’ve felt very drained. I didn’t leave the apartment yesterday. Just stayed home and worked on my own project. Knit until my hands hurt. Waking up groggy. Should stop taking sleeping pills before bed.

But right now I’m feeling sad. My doggie nephew Gus is really sick, and we don’t know if he’s going to make it. He’s a good little dog. I wish I could help him and all the other good little dogs in the world.

I love feeling like I’m bundled up in a nice warm crib like a baby, knowing that I’m protected from the icy cold outside.

It’s such a nice feeling, and that’s how I woke up today.

(Maybe that’s also why I woke up wearing a diaper…)

Trust.

Ever since Osa (the little dog) left, my life hasn't been as cheerful.

Not that I've been sobbing uncontrollably or anything.
There just hasn't been a little ray of sassy sunshine greeting me at the door when I get home, shaking her little butt and covering me in kisses.

I need that.
Especially since all I've been doing these days is working.

Work, sleep, work, sleep.
Not that fun.
I need a dog to come home to.

So, we might buy one in the next couple of months.
If are unable to clone Osa, then we'll probably get a Boston Terrier.

This film short, starring Famke Janssen (Jean Gray from "X-Men") and her real life Boston Terrier, is pretty good and cute. And I think it perfectly depicts the close bond between owner and pet.

So, we just moved into our new apartment on Thursday.
We have been non-stop on-the-go since then.
I'm exhausted. My body is sore. I didn't do well at all at the outdoor market yesterday (not complaining, just gotta figure out what to do and what to focus on selling). It's grey outside, about to rain, and really humid.

I don't want to go outside at all today.
I'm not in a bad mood or anything. I'm just really tired and want to curl up in bed with my new roommate.

Oh, yes, this is my new roommate.

Her name is Osa.
She's really tiny.
We didn't really know what to make of her at first because she is so shy around new people. (I'm not a fan of overly shy people because I think people should know how to talk to each other—and they should just be themselves.)
But she's finally warmed up to us.

This is the new room:

Really messy right now because we're not situated yet.

It's smaller than my last room, and it's made me realize that I have way too many things.
I always consider myself as a person who doesn't have many possessions.

This is not true.

Do you remember those things from your freshman year of high school (or maybe middle school) called slam books?
It's a notebook that's passed around a group of people. Each page has a different question, and whoever has the book writes their answer down on the page. So, for example, if one page's question was "Are You A Virgin?", there'd be all these responses from different people.

And wasn't there a sort of key of symbols in the front of the book? Like… you just drew a symbol or wrote your initials under your response instead of writing out your name…? I forget. I'm trying to remember to remember ten years ago.

Anyway, this weekend I remembered this one guy's response for the page/question "What do you think of Craig?"… He didn't like me at all.

He wrote:
"HE SHITS BRICKS AND SUCKS DICK."

Has a nice ring to it. It rolls off your tongue.
No, it doesn't roll—it runs and jumps off the tip.

I am thinking about purchasing (or letting someone else purchase for me) a knitting machine.
I have no idea how they work, though. So, I looked them up on YouTube and found this realllly awesome homemade knitting machine made old printer parts, two servos and a Picaxe-18x microcontroller. (I don't know what the last two things are at all. I just copied/pasted the video's description.)

Check it out:

I want that. It's amazing.

Not much else here to report. Stayed inside the whole weekend—except for brief trips to the grocery store, the post office, and to a doggie costume contest in the park.

SELF PORTRAIT THURSDAY!
2.28.07

Where I work these days:

And another one to show that I was hungover for a good part of the day:

I wear my clothes to bed.
Every night just about.

Here's me last night in the same exact clothes:
(Chris K. came over last night and we went to eat and drink beer and then went to a bar and drank a lot more.)

Last night I met the dog version of myself—we both bark at people for no good reason, and we really just want to be left alone, but at the same we don't. And vice versa.

His name was Willis.
And he's the same kind of dog that was in that Jim Carrey movie, "The Mask". Milo, I think his name was.

"Not the cheese—the keys!"

Hahahaha.

Anywho, here are some photos of Willis and I.

Jesus.

I wonder how many photos I'll have of myself by the time I die.
I'm thinking 40,000.

I don't think I have any fetishes.

I mean, nothing comes to mind when I think of fetishes. So, I guess that must mean something.

Anyways, I'm "housesitting" for my sister right now.
She's afraid of robbers. So, I gotta stay here while she and her fiance are at work until the alarm system is installed.

All I've done today is watch television and take care of three pomeranians.
I DID discover how addicting the DIY Network is… I watched it all day long and got mad that I had no sewing machine and/or knitting needles and yarn. Ugh. Just my laptop that gets HORRIBLE wifi reception. =/

The other down side is that Buddha, the older male pomeranian, keeps trying to prove how male he is to the female and the male puppy. ANNND… he keeps jacking himself off with his paws. That makes me really uncomfortable, especially when he looks at me and does it.

Here's a photo I took today:

I made this collage that I call "The World Looks Red", but that's only because there's an old Sonic Youth song called that:

Anyways, here's the colllage I made for my Etsy shop. I don't think the two go together, but I like the title. And I really like the collage. (Or "collage"? I dunno what it is exactly.)

"The Wizard of Oz" is on television right now. I haven't seen it in forever.

New realizations:

1. The Wicked Witch of the West is awesome.
2. Toto is a very good, loyal dog.
3. The Tinman is a closet homosexual.
4. "Wizard of Oz" must have been a really fun movie to act in because the story is great and that's that.
